REVIEW : Badmotorfinger / Heroes (2016)

Badmotorfinger is a heavy band and "Heroes" is its brand new EP. Originally, formed back in 2006 as a cover band only,  Badmotorfinger started to compose its own songs in 2011 with the release of the promo cd "BadMotorFinger".

Two years later, the first record was finally a reality with the release of "It's Not The End" through logic(il)logic Records. After a couple of line-up changes, the band moved on and started, once again, to record new songs. The result of this work is three brand new tracks and three from the debut, which are all included in this EP with the title "Heroes".

The opening tune is entitled "Hidden Heroes". It's a moody heavy tune with some Metallica 'touches' here and there and it's overall a nice sample of Badmotorfinger's work. "Needle In My Vein" is again a heavy one and more in-your-face with a memorable chorus, I really like, as I mentioned above, the Metallica influences that are givin' an extra flavor to the final result. "No Second Chance" is a song that has been re-arranged (never heard the original one) and it's one of the best songs here. "Badmotorfinger" is this EP's highlight!!! Classic 70's, early 80's, hard rock with a straight-forward sound and attitude!!!! The EP features, also, two acoustic tracks that are both good.

All in all, this is a very good mini-album. Badmotorfinger is a band that has potential and talent. They have their own sound and own identity and that's  a very good thing. The Metallica influences, of course, are obvious in some songs but that's not a problem. Check 'em out!!!
